Chasing the Moon

The Southworth Library  marks the 50th with a special program featuring an extended preview of the PBS AMERICAN EXPERIENCE film Chasing the Moon.

The curated film clip of approximately 35 minutes, “Chasing the Moon Part 3 The Giant Leap”, covers NASA preparation, exploration and the excitement as the world tuned in to watch Neil Armstrong walk on the moon’s surface with the triumphant words, “the Eagle has landed.”

“Chasing the Moon,” is  a new six-hour documentary series about the space race, from its earliest beginnings to the monumental achievement of the first lunar landing in 1969 and beyond, will premiere Monday-Wednesday, July 8-10, 2019, 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET on PBS.
