Chinese New Year Celebration – January 21 at 11am

It’s the year of the Rabbit!

In 2023, we ring in the Year of the Rabbit, one of 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac. The animal designations of the zodiac follow a 12-year cycle and are always used in the same sequence. The symbolic darkness of night is banished by the light of fireworks, lanterns, and candles. Man-made paper lanterns are hung by the hundreds in public areas, bringing good luck to the new year. Of course, much delicious food is made and served!

Come learn about Chinese culture, language, and traditions at the Southworth Library on Saturday, January 21 starting at 11am.

There will be crafts, food, and stories for all ages!

Registration is recommended so we can have enough of everything to share!
