Dryden Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting-Saturday, December 3, 2022

Dryden will kick off the Holiday season this year with activities throughout the day on Saturday, December 3, culminating in our historic tree lighting.   The Village and Town are partnering with the Southworth Library and over 25 local businesses to bring the festivities to life. The events include a full schedule of crafts, free samples & treats, discounts & refreshments throughout the village all day! Dryden Agway’s Holiday craft fair is back with local vendors and artisans and the Station Creamery will host its first Gingerbread House Competition with food and ice cream specials. Go to the Southworth Estate at the Town of Dryden Historical Society to make an original ornament. Dryden United Methodist Church will have free holiday children’s crafts as well as McCune, Murphy & Potter Physical Therapy.  Warm up with some cocoa at the First National Bank of dryden on Main Street or Arnold’s Flower Shop and grab a cookie at Falcon Optical, or for more adult tastes, the Dryden Wine & Spirits will host a tasting and Hopshire Farm & Brewery will host the Spirits of the Holidays with over 5 local distilleries. Many businesses and organizations are planning special events, open houses, free treats and more that isn’t listed! Check the schedule of events to confirm times.

As part of the event, there will be a Legends of the Holidays Scavenger Hunt to find ornaments and legends while visiting local businesses.  When you are done, bring it to the library for a free ornament and a chance to win prizes donated by local merchants.

There will be tractor driven hayrides leaving from the library, provided by the Carpenter Family,from 10am – 1pm.

Don’t miss Santa at the library for stories at 2:30,  a special Sing along with Santa at 3:00 and photos with Santa from 3:30 – 4:30pm!

The library will show the holiday film, Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree in the afternoon to go with the free book (while supplies last).

The festivities conclude with a live Nativity hosted by the Dryden Presbyterian Church.  Join in the caroling with refreshments provided by the Fire Dept and Dryden Village. Stop for a s’more at Time Square with the Dryden Recreation Dept until Santa arrives on the fire truck to light the tree!

It promises to be a full day of fun for young and old! Get your schedule and scavenger hunt sheet at the library, in the Shopper and or at the local participating businesses.
