I Survived Book Club – February 8 at 3:30pm

“When disaster strikes, heroes are made.”

The “I Survived” book series, by Lauren Tarshis, gives a first-hand account by a young person from various disasters and calamities around the world.

This book club will meet monthly on Wednesdays at 3:30, exploring a new book each month. The series is geared toward independent readers in grades 3-5. Register to save your spot.  Books are provided through a generous Dryden Youth Opportunity Fund grant.

We survived shark attacks in September, the Great Chicago Fire in October and the Sinking of the Titanic in November! In December we travelled back in time to World War 2 and survived the Battle of D-day! January was “Reader’s Choice” where you got to choose between surviving the Wellington Avalanche, the Attack of the Grizzlies, or Hurricane Katrina.

January 18 – The Destruction of Pompeii

This month you will travel back in time to AD 79 and the destruction of Pompeii due to the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

Will you survive?
