Jennie’s Book Club September 21 at 10 am-The Day the World Came to Town

Do you remember were you were on 9/11/2001?  It was a day that changed the world twenty years ago. In the midst of the horrible tragedy, many stories of courage, bravery and compassion arose, including those of the people in Gander, Newfoundland, who found themselves hosts to  38 airliners, totaling 6,122 passengers and 473 crew, as part of Operation Yellow Ribbon from planes that were diverted. Jim Defede’s heartwarming account of incredible kindness and generosity in The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland is a tribute to the best of human nature.

This story inspired the it Broadway musical Come From Away.
