Worlds Within Us – a Creative Writing Course with Lisa Harris
Join Lisa Harris for Worlds Within Us, a three part writing workshop for people with stories to tell.
- March 11 from 1- 2:30 : creating a world (setting)
- March 25 from 1 – 2:30: populating that world with people (character)
- April 8 from 1 – 2:30: framing problem(s) to examine, explore and perhaps resolve (plot)
Each session will be 60 minutes, in three 20 minute slots inclduing the lesson;writing in response to prompts that explore the three concepts; and 20 minutes to share and discuss/questions. Open to teens and older. Please register here to participate
Lisa Harris has published poetry and short fiction in a wide range of journals and her fiction and poetry have been anthologized. Her most recent novel, The Raven’s Tale, completes The Quest Trilogy. The first two books, ‘Geechee Girls and Allegheny Dream, received first place and honorable mention, respectively, in 2015 from The Author’s Zone (Pittsburgh). Traveling Through Glass, Harris’ first poetry collection, was created collaboratively while in dialogue with Patricia Brown’s drawings and paintings. This collection is Cayuga Lake Books’ first poetry and art publication. Harris has taught and administered at private and public schools and colleges in Georgia, Vermont, New York and Pennsylvania. For ten years, she was an Associate Fellow at the Institute for Writing and Thinking. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Avery School of the Arts at Bard College
