Free Classical Guitar Concert on Friday May 2 at 6:30

Join us at the library for a free evening of classical guitar  with the extraordinary talents of two of the most exciting musicians in our area on Friday, May 2 at 6:30 pm.

The American guitarist and music teacher, Matthew Ocone, is a graduate of The Eastman School of Music, where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree with distinction while studying with Nicholas Goluses. Matthew Ocone is an active performer and teacher on the classical guitar in the Ithaca area. His repertoire ranges from Baroque guitar transcriptions to 20th-century masterpieces. In addition to classical guitar music, he also plays Brazilian popular music in the virtuoso tradition of Garoto, and Dilermando Reis, and has professional experience playing in rock, pop, and Latin groups. He worked as Freelance Concert artist and studio musician (2005-2011).

After receiving his Bachelors of Music from the prestigious Eastman School and his Masters from the Manhattan School of Music, Isaac Sharp has gone on to perform both locally and nationally with performances at the NYC’s Metropolitan Museum of art on a historic instrument from their collection as well as local venues. Isaac lives on a small homestead outside of Ithaca, NY where he divides his time between various musical, artistic and agricultural activities.
